Keisha Castle-Hughes was born March, 24 1990 in Mt. Wellington, New Zealand. She was raised in the small town of Mt. Wellington where she was selected from among several hundred children to star as Paikea in 2003’s acclaimed film Whale Rider. She was nominated for a Best Actress Academy Award for her performance. In 2005, Castle-Hughes appeared in Star Wars: Episode III as Regal Leader.
